Hannah has lived in Southern Oregon on a working ranch for over 9 years. Previously, Hannah grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where she competitively team roped, and showed Quarter Horses in Western Pleasure, Equitation, and Trail classes. Hannah then went off to Texas Tech University, where she achieved a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. She also earned an Equine Certificate with a focus in Production.
While at Texas Tech University, Hannah competed in Reining Cow Horse shows, and team roped and barrel raced in many rodeos and jackpot races. Hannah worked for the Texas Tech Equestrian Center where she cared for 50-75 horses, and rode and trained lesson horses and prepared horses for sale.
Since being in Oregon, Hannah has competed heavily in barrel racing. She has broadened her equine expertise by working at a Veterinary office, and also at a USDA quarantine facility where she handled and rode many different breeds such as Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas, Saddlebreds, Warmbloods, Gypsies, Thoroughbreds, Friesians, Andalusians, Hanoverians, and many more.
Hannah is a certified TIP trainer for Project Spirit Equine Rescue and Rehab, located in Chiloquin, OR. She enjoys the challenge of taking unwanted horses and giving them a skillset that allows them to find their forever, loving homes.
One of Hannah's goals is to change the mindset of horsemen about Thoroughbreds. Hannah has an extreme love and passion for the breed and loves sharing their unique minds and talents with the world. Hannah has acquired over 40 Off Track Thoroughbreds and has retrained them, kept a few, and found excellent forever homes for the others. Due to her efforts towards the Thoroughbred breed, Hannah has been recognized as an ambassador for “The Western Thoroughbred” which promotes the use of Thoroughbreds in Western riding disciples. This has been a great honor to receive this accreditation.
Hannah has been giving riding lessons to children and adults for 9 years. Her students are competitive in reining, roping, barrel racing, and gymkhana. Hannah is continuing to offer lessons on her horses or client owned horses. Hannah is also accepting client horses for full care training and consignment. Training can include anything from saddle breaking, to performance finishing, and everything in-between.
